1. second day of summer school down, 10 to go. have some of my favorite little kiddos in my class.

3. dd back from NYC-had the time of her life-now she wants to live there.
4. pool is finally clear after several weeks of treating it!
5. I exercised quite a bit today, toning/strengthening in the pool with water weights, and 2 laps around the neighborhood, with some running thrown in. (feeling that already)
6. I'm getting a lot of reading done this summer--it's wonderful!
7. still angry that I couldn't teach this summer because of jury duty, especially since I happened to see the teacher's contracts today (huge disparity in pay).
8. is very tired of this hot weather and very thankful we have a pool to cool off in
9. first night home & dd is sleeping over at a friends house : ( I missed her.
10. I'm actually signing off and going to bed early tonight.

People just suck
Suck. Suck. Suck. Someone broke into my son and future dil's house yesterday and stole their big screen tv. They love to watch movies and they worked so hard to save money for that thing and someone just walks in and takes it as if it belongs to them. Thankfully nothing else was stolen, although there were 2 laptops, a blackberry, a gps and a blue-ray right in the same room. They were just after that television. Probably sold it for a couple hundred bucks to some poor sucker who can't even use it because the idiot took the wrong remote. Worse--they know who it is, they just can't prove it. And the very worst part--it's a family member. Disgusting piece of slime. I could easily kick him in the balls and spit in his face.
I sure wish I could afford to buy the poor kids a new tv, but even so there's no way to replace their sense of security. I'm so angry and sad.

Shoes!
I was going thru the photos on my computer the other day and happened to notice several different shots of various shoes: snowshoes, clogs, cleats, workboots, etc. so I thought it would be fun to make a collage of shoes. Some were copied as is and some were cropped out of larger photos, so the quality isn't very good. What disappointed me is that I couldn't find any pics of dd's toe shoes or tap shoes.

And here are yesterday and today's photos-of-the-day
From yesterday--dd, just because she thought she looked so cute. (of course, I do agree!)
And today's pic--the dog, just because she's so darn cute too (well that and I just needed a pic at 11:45pm!)

wow--2 posts in one day!
So I haven't been taking many photos lately, nor blogging, so I thought I might give the photo-a-day-thing another try. I did take some over the weekend, so we'll start from there.
Sunday we went to a bbq at ds's house. He had just gotten his own grill--look how proud he is! lol He was very excited to cook for us. He did a fine job grilling those dogs & burgers.
It was a fun day. I love that even though ds is grown and living on his own with his gf, they still want to hang out with us. They frequently stop by the house or invite us to their place. It's so nice!
Bucket List
A friend on a message board posted about her bucket list, so I thought it would be a good idea to start one.
1. trip to Alaska
2. find a teaching job/save some money for retirement
3. have grandchildren (ok, I kind of have no control over this one)
4. get back into shape
5. get a tattoo
6. week-long vacation in Wellfleet
7. pay off all debt
ps--that Insanity program is happily on it's way back to the company. I have to admit that it didn't work out. While I love Sean T, was too much on my creaky old knees. But I am happy to say that I have re-joined Jazzercise, so I'm doing that 3x a week, zumba once a week, and lifting weights twice a week. Feeling the results already!

Insanity 60-Day Workout Program: Day 1
Yeah...it's insane alright. I did the Fit Test today. You follow Sean T on the dvd, do these exercises, as many reps as you can in a minute, and record it so that later on you can re-do the test and see your improvement. Well, almost anything will be an improvement over my numbers! I may not complete the program in 60 days, but I'll do my best to complete it before I'm 60!
